Hot Topics in Astrophysics
LOCATION: Sexten Primary School - Via Panorama 6, Sexten
DETAILS
This workshop is structured as an informal brainstorming meeting, as those regularly scheduled by Professor Colin Norman at the Johns Hopkins University under the title “Hot topics in Astrophysics”, in the occasion of his 70th birthday. The meeting will be held at the SCfA school, in the beautiful surroundings of the Dolomites, with the scope of reinforcing existing collaborations and possibly foster new ones. The selected “Hot Topics” are:
- Early sites of star formation and black hole accretion, such as protoclusters, first galaxies and their low redshift analogues, distant quasars and AGN
- Cosmography with new probes of DM, DE and H0, e.g. using quasars, lensing time delays
We foresee a number of contributions stemming from new multi-wavelength observations from X-ray to Radio, as well as from theoretical studies and cosmological simulations.
